Cairns Blinds & Awnings - Luxaflex Gallery

Cairns Blinds and Awnings is a family-owned business that has been in business for over 9 years. It is the exclusive Luxaflex Showroom servicing the Cairns and Port Douglas areas. The company specialises in all types of Roller Shutters and automation, and is a Somfy expert. It won the 2017 award for Best Luxaflex Client Makeover nationally. Services include an in-home consultation service, and a free measure and quote. It offers blinds, shutters, curtains, and awnings.

Cairns Blinds & Awnings - Luxaflex Gallery draws both praise and criticism from reviewers in Cairns, with the standard of completed workmanship and the helpfulness of staff appearing frequently in accounts. Shutter installations are repeatedly described as well finished, and one home office project is singled out for the control over light it gave, reducing glare on computer monitors. Christine is named for her role in quoting, while Maree and the wider team are thanked for installing shutters, filling holes as they went, demonstrating how the remotes operate and tidying the site afterwards.

Punctuality also features, with the tradesperson arriving when arranged and the measuring carried out as scheduled. The showroom is described favourably for its range and presentation. Cost is the recurring point of contention: several reviewers regard the pricing for vertical blinds and for made-to-measure awnings as considerably higher than other quotes they obtained, and one describes the figure as excessive for the work involved. Those accounts of expense sit alongside the positive reports on installation and service, forming a divided picture of the business.
