Illawarra Canvas

Illawarra Canvas is a family owned and operated company based in Wollongong that has served its local community for over ten years. The company manufactures products locally using Australian made canvas and serves both commercial and residential clients. Its manufacturing process uses advanced technology and software, automated cutting devices, and a team of technical staff.

Illawarra Canvas manufactures annexes, canvas awnings, boat covers, biminis, canopies, shade sails, outdoor furniture covers, tarps, tonneau covers and sandpit covers. It provides manufacturing, alterations and repair services for clients throughout the Illawarra.

Personal attention from Steve, paired with careful craftsmanship, is the thread that runs through this Dapto canvas business's feedback. Customers describe custom projects made to their own specifications, among them boat covers, replacement awnings, a ute canopy, a camper trailer annex and a BBQ cover cut to a supplied diagram, and they report the finished item matched or exceeded what they had imagined. Several accounts note Steve's willingness to listen and to offer design and manufacturing suggestions that had not occurred to them, along with practical guidance on repairs and customisation.

Competitive pricing is a point that comes up often, as is punctuality, with one job noted as finished exactly when promised. The standard of the workmanship draws praise across canvas and awning projects alike, and the readiness to assist with related matters, such as pointing a customer towards an aluminium frame supplier, is valued. People describe a straightforward, approachable process built on close attention to detail and a genuinely bespoke result, with the local nature of the operation and the calibre of its output cited as reasons customers keep coming back for further work.
