The Decorating Bug

The Decorating Bug has been South Australian owned and operated since 2000. It is a member of the Window Coverings Association of Australia. The business specialises in bespoke window treatments including curtains, blinds, plantation shutters, and outdoor blinds. It manufactures and supplies custom made soft furnishings and window treatments.

Services are provided across Metro Adelaide, including Glenelg, Norwood, Burnside, Goodwood, and the Adelaide Hills. An in-home consultation service is offered throughout Adelaide and surrounding metropolitan areas. The Decorating Bug has a showroom in Parkside on Unley Road. A free measure and consultation with an experienced Décor Consultant is available.

The Decorating Bug earns consistent praise from Adelaide customers for curtains and blinds that are described as beautifully made and installed. Reviewers repeatedly single out Candice and Annie for their expertise, with advice on fabrics, styles and colour choices that clients find genuinely useful, and one account notes that linen options were brought on site to assist with selection. Plantation shutters feature prominently, as do sheer and blockout curtains, along with motorised blinds used for daytime shading and night-time privacy.

One thing mentioned again and again is how smoothly the process runs, from measuring and quoting through to fitting, with punctual, polite installers who work thoroughly and leave the job tidy. Challenging briefs, including a curved wall and awkward radii, are said to have been managed without difficulty, while the fabric range in the shop is described as extensive enough that customers discover pieces they had not expected. Pricing is also said to have compared well with other quotes, and curtains fitted four years earlier are still admired for how they look and perform. Clients describe outcomes that delight them in single rooms, whole homes and additional properties alike.
