Spotlight Gladstone

Filthy shop, Always dirty, never cleaned up, big empty shelves. I was horrified with what this store was like, compared to every other Spotlight I have been in. The Staff are lovely but I witnessed the Store Manager being abusive to the staff in front of customers. Something is wrong with this store

This store has slightly larger water spray bottles which actually work & don't degrade after a few days. Yaaaay

Spotlight Gladstone is a great place. Good service. I phoned them and asked to keep 4 items for me I will pop in the next day. When I arrived they knew about everything. In the end I bought 8 items. Spotlight is the place to shop!

Smaller selection of items then in other ones I've visited, but has a large range of fabric and home goods.

Really friendly staff and yes its a smaller shop I found everything I needed. staff provided advice and provided a very 3njoyable shopping experience

Unfortunately, my experience with Spotlight has been the worst example of customer service and product quality I’ve ever encountered—especially disappointing from a company I believed to be a market leader. We initially arranged for a consultant to come and measure and quote blackout curtains with decorative sheers. The consultant was professional, understood our needs, and provided helpful recommendations. We accepted the quote and paid the deposit, being advised that installation would take place within six weeks. After eight weeks with no update, I contacted Spotlight and was told the curtains had not yet arrived, but installation would be scheduled for two weeks’ time. That date came and went, and I was informed the installer was unavailable for another two weeks. This back-and-forth continued for nearly four months. When the installer finally arrived, he admitted he didn’t know how to install the curtains or blinds, which was both shocking and incredibly frustrating, given we had now waited five months from the time of the deposit. Despite this, I received a call from Accounts requesting full payment. After six months, I ended up asking to collect the curtains myself and install them—just to get the job done. Eventually, a manager from head office contacted me, and we agreed on a discount due to the inconvenience of self-installation. Now, 18 months later, the backing on these expensive curtains has completely deteriorated. You can literally see right through them—they no longer block out light at all. I contacted Spotlight, and while they initially acknowledged the issue and agreed to send a representative to inspect the damage, no one followed up. After five weeks with no contact, I reached out again and was told someone would review the photos and respond by the end of the day. That never happened either. I have since emailed and left a voice message for the same manager who resolved the previous issue, but I’ve received no response. It is incredibly disappointing—and honestly confusing—that a company of Spotlight’s size and reputation could provide such unprofessional and disrespectful service, especially after I invested over $6,000. The curtains are clearly made from cheap, low-quality materials that haven’t even lasted two years. Please take my advice and support local small businesses that value their customers and take pride in the quality of their products and service. Spotlight has lost my trust and my future business.

Really great service from a lady called Jay today. She went above and beyond to get us a product that would meet our needs with our best interest (and budget) in mind and then answered any of my questions in a great amount of detail which reassured me. Super friendly and polite and made an effort to make us smile and laugh while she provided our service 10/10 for customer service!
