Done a sensational job with the instalment of the Tonneau Cover on my trayback Ute, not a local but it was definitely worth the 3 hour trip!!
Great product & excellent service. Thank you
Had these guys complete a canvas canopy on a pre made tub frame #1 mistake: they did not blow off the metal shavings under the sail track. This resulted in the canopy leaking because the silocone did not seal around the metal shavings. Everytime it rained rust drops (from the metal shavings) dripped everywhere over my car and the canopy. This was so painful and annoying to clean as the rust drops went everywhere on the cab and tub. This could have been solved in 2 seconds by blowing off the metal shavings when doing the job. #2 mistake: They added a promotional stitched logo on the canopy. The stitching was covering the writting on the promotional patch and it was on an angle. Why would you add a promotional patch to have the stitching cover your adress? It looked messy, sloppy, and unproffesional. This would have taken 3 seconds for someone to see that the stitching was covering the writting and to have removed or fixed it. I cannot imagine the person who stitched it on did not notice this. #3 mistake: On my canopy frame I had tie down points. For whatever reason the bolts had been swapped out for shorter length bolts. I assume the fitter lost the original bolts (I can understand this is an easy oversight to make). But when the bolt was replaced they used a bolt that was not long enough. A nylon nut was added and the thread did not even reach the end of the nut, so it would have rattled lose overtime. Again could have been fixed in 2 seconds by using the original bolts or getting the correct size bolt. Its not my job to go to bunnings to get a proper size bolt that someone lost. #4 mistake: where I had the tie down points on my rail, they all had drilled holes approximately the size of m6 bolts. I am not sure why but these holes were drilled to a bigger hole (around an m8 bolt size). I assume this was drilled out because the fitter struggled to allign the holes with the sail track. As a result when it rained it was dripping big time through these holes. This dripped straight onto my electrical system and dc dc charger. So it fried my charger. I understand the tie downs may have complicated the job, but I would have rather you guys decline to do the job if it was going to be to difficult to manage. I then took it back to the company to resolve these problems. 1. They did not have an onsight welder so I had to remove the hardtop alloy from the frame and weld there over drilled holes up myself, sand off the surface rust left from the metal shavings, re-paint it and then resilocone it.This was a major pain that I should not have had to do. As a result. I had to drive it upto them, get them to remove the canvas and sail track, take it back to my home again to remove the alloy hard top and weld it, then bring it back to them to refit the canvas. This was a major pain and time killer. When the sail track was removed there was a ridiculous amount of metal shavings. It was shocking that the fitter did not think to wipe it away, it would have taken 2 seconds and resulted in me not having canvas thats covered in rust stains. 2. They removed the patch that had stitching covering the writting. They did do a good job and I have no complaints on this side of the repair. 3. I requested for them to clean the canvas and try and get the rust stains off (because I could not, no matter how hard I scrubbed). They had the canvas for at least a week while I was repairing there stuff up on the frame. They obviously did not get the rust stains out. When i got the canopy it was wet (looked like the sprayed water over it) and the rust stains were not visible. The second it dried the rust stains were visible. 4. When they reapplied the sail track, one of the pop rivits was not seated properly and was sticking above the canopy. This would have taken 2 seconds to check. In summary, i spent around $1800 on canvas that now has stained rust marks that I cannot get off, am down $500 on replacing a dcdc charger, had to spend 2 days welding, sanding and painting, and had to bring it back multiple times.
