Coolabah Shades

Coolabah Shades is an Australian manufacturer and installer of awnings, blinds and canopies for residential and commercial spaces. The company was founded in 2007 by Peter Carradus, who has been installing awnings and shade products for over 25 years. Coolabah Shades is an authorised manufacturer for Ziptrak blinds, and its products are Australian-made. It serves the Greater Melbourne area and offers a free measure and quote service.

Praise for Coolabah Shades centres on the knowledgeable advice that owner Peter provides throughout a project. A number of customers describe how his suggestions at the quoting stage steered them towards the right product, with one noting that his recommendations actually brought the cost down rather than up. Measurements and quotes are handled quickly, and reviews time and again mention that installation happened exactly when promised.

The work itself covers a range of outdoor shading, including ziptrack and retractable pleated patio blinds, pull-out blinds used as courtyard privacy screens, awnings and shade sails. In Moorabbin and the wider south-eastern suburbs, clients remark that Peter answers every question patiently and offers practical tips on which blind suits a western-facing window, a pergola or an apartment courtyard.

The finished installations are described as neat and faultless, with the blinds easy to operate and effective at cutting the sun and heat. When a shade sail was damaged by weather, Peter assessed it, handled the insurance paperwork and arranged a replacement rather than a repair, a response that customers call exemplary and accommodating. Product quality, punctuality and the team's professional manner recur throughout, and Pete's name appears again and again as the reason clients return for their outdoor blinds.
