Factory Direct Shutters, Awnings & Blinds
About the company
Factory Direct Shutters, Awnings & Blinds is a locally owned family business that has operated for over 25 years. It began as a small shutters business on the Sunshine Coast more than two decades ago and remains Queensland owned and operated. The company supplies and installs shutters, blinds, awnings, curtains and security doors and screens.
It serves South East Queensland, Wide Bay and Northern Rivers. Factory Direct manufactures its own products rather than importing them, and its products are built to meet Australian standards. A mobile showroom is available for free measure and quotes. Both products and installation are covered by warranty. Interest-free payment plans are offered.
What customers say
Based on genuine customer reviews
Plantation shutters and outdoor pull-down blinds dominate the reviews for Factory Direct Shutters, Awnings & Blinds on the Sunshine Coast, with office staff including Charmaine and salesperson Glen named for keeping customers updated during the wait for manufacture.
Installers Travis, Geoff and Mark are each credited separately for tidy, helpful fitting that includes removing old blinds and clearing away rubbish afterwards. The wait for shutters to be made is mentioned more than once as a mild downside, though reviewers say it was flagged clearly at the time of ordering.

The service we received from Paul with the quote, and the installation from Mark, was second to none. Our new shutters, and our new blinds look amazing. Highly recommend Factory Direct. Unfortnately, 2 days after installation, I noticed this damage caused by the installers. Hope it can be repaired soon. Still the shutters look great. An update on this review. Factory Direct are going to repair the damage to our door frame. Well done and great service all around.
Great experience all round, from first contact, to quote to installation. No problems at all, Factory Direct Shutters always communicated what was happening with product build and expected installation times. Geoff the installer arrived on time was very professional and the installation went smoothly. We're very happy with the finished product and the whole Factory Direct Shutters experience. Would highly recommend.
Factory Direct Shutters has been amazing to deal with. I've decided to install shutters in the living area, and I'm so pleased with the result. Paul was a great salesperson, the office kept me informed every step of the way regarding delivery, and Geoff did a fantastic job with the installation. I highly recommend their team for their professionalism, communication, and quality workmanship.

We had all our curtains and blinds supplied and installed by Factory Direct Shutters, Awnings & Blinds, Sunshine Coast. The entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. Communication was easy, honest and professional, the quality of the curtains and blinds is excellent, and Isaac who completed the installation was friendly, efficient and very helpful. We also had a couple of blinds replaced and the process was handled quickly and without any hassle. Highly recommend Factory Direct Shutters, Awnings & Blinds for both quality products and outstanding customer service.
I have just had my bedroom windows transformed to plantation shutters. From beginning to end it was a great experience. The man who came to measure up was very helpful and the young man who installed them yesterday was friendly and very helpful. He took down my old blinds. He even offered to help hubby put furniturs back. Great staff . My only complaint was the waiting time to have them made but to be fair, this was told to me when l ordered. Good job Factory Direct Shutters l am very pleased with them.
