Custom Window Furnishings

Custom Window Furnishings is a family-owned business that has been operating for more than 35 years. The team has 50 years of combined experience and includes professional designers, curtain-makers and installers in Brisbane. The business manufactures its products on-site and custom-makes curtains, roller blinds and fabric blinds from its large workroom. It serves residential and commercial clients throughout Brisbane and provides made-to-measure curtains, blinds and shutters.

The business offers a free measure and quote as well as colour consultations, and provides free quotes within 48 hours. It offers a 5-year warranty on shutters and a 2-year warranty on all other products, along with Acmeda and Somfy motorisation with options to integrate into smart homes. The business has a showroom and a fast turnaround time of 4 to 6 weeks.

Curtains and blinds made to measure for homes across Brisbane feature throughout the feedback for Custom Window Furnishings, with much of the praise directed at owner Jay. Customers writing about their orders describe his product knowledge and practical advice, particularly the guidance he offers first-time buyers in selecting fabrics and window treatments that suit both the space and the budget.

Several accounts note how closely he oversees each job, from the initial quote through to installation, and note that the craftsmanship matches what was promised at the outset. Sheer curtains, S-fold and blockout curtains, and blinds for bedrooms and living areas appear among the completed work, with clients remarking that rooms feel darker, more private and noticeably transformed. Punctuality comes up often: quotes are delivered promptly, timelines are honoured, and installations are completed quickly, in one case before the Christmas period despite a busy schedule.

The family-run character of the business is valued, as is the friendliness of Jay and his team, including his son, and customers appreciate being able to support a local operator they can rely on. Communication before, during and after each project is singled out as a strength, along with tidy workmanship and fair pricing for custom-made furnishings. Word-of-mouth referrals are frequently cited as the reason customers first made contact.
